Our venue has both inside and outside areas to host your event of up to 75 guests.

The Powder Magazine Museum has the Canon Yard, Inside Museum, House Piazza and Courtyard.

For inquires and questions contact Kathleen Buckley at powdermagazinemuseum@gmail.com and she will respond as soon as possible but allow up to 4 business days. The main phone number on the website to the museum does not take inquiries for events, only Kathleen via the above email.

  • We only hold dates once a contract has been signed with a deposit and any other applicable fees.

  • Deposits are not refundable.

  • No, all of these will need to be rented.

  • They differ each day and by event and can be discussed if need additional hours.

  • Yes as long as they are approved ahead of time and are licensed and fully insured.

  • Yes, a licensed day-of coordinator and not a friend of someone with the wedding party or if a corporate event a contact person who will be coordinating the event from beginning to end and be onsite during the entire event. They must provide a detailed timeline 3 weeks out for the event that will describe what will be going on before and during the event, and also provide when all the vendors will be arriving and departing (ex: rentals, tents, caterer, bar service, etc.)

  • Yes you must provide proof of insurance that specifically names NSCDA-SC D/B/A The Powder Magazine Museum as an additional insured in the amount of $1,000,000. This policy must be provided no less than 30 days prior to the event.

  • Yes, a representative will be on site to open up the venue and close the venue and on call if you have any questions. No one will be on site to assist with the set up or day of coordinating.

  • No items can be stored in our venue prior to the day of your event. All décor and vendor equipment MUST also be taken on the day/night of the event due to it being a museum and open to the public.

  • Yes.

  • This will need to be discussed ahead of time to see if there is something going on and may need to be done another day.

  • Yes, there is and all music and speakers need to be done by 9pm and everyone out of the venue by 10pm sharp.
